About
Dob: 23-Sep-84
Event: 800m, 4 x 400m Relay
Biography
Marilyn is a great ambassador for McCain Track & Field because she’s a walking definition of what it means to be an active person. Not only is she a keen gospel and jazz singer, performing in a band called The Felonius Monks, a passionate supporter of human rights causes, a former lacrosse international at junior level, and a speaker of four languages with a degree in French and politics, she also manages to be one of Aviva Team GB & NI’s top performers and a great hope for 2012. Having started out as a sprinter, she is still a key member of the 4 x 400m relay, but her new focus is on 800m with her eyes set firmly on emulating her hero, Kelly Holmes. She won the national UKA Indoor 800m in 2007, got gold in the UKA Outdoor 800m a year later, and looks set to turn that national success into an impressive international career.

Training Tip
For toned thighs in no time, try wall slides. Lean against a nice sturdy wall with your feet shoulder width apart and about 12 inches in front of you. Keep your back flat against the wall as you dip down by slowly bending your knees to right angles. Hold in this sitting position for 5 seconds then slowly push back up. You’ll feel the burn after a few but try for 10. Click here for the full athlete's workout.
