Stephanie Twell
About
Dob: 17-Aug-89
Event: 1500m, Cross Country
Biography
At the age of just 15, Stephanie was the youngest member of the British team who travelled to Helsinki for the 2005 World Championships. Three years later she entered the history books as the first athlete ever to win three European Cross Country titles in a row. Not content with success in the punishing Cross Country discipline, Stephanie also won gold in 1500m at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Poland. Having run faster than Paula Radcliffe ever did as a teenager, Stephanie’s one of the great British hopes for success at our home Olympics. She shows her belief in that dream by wearing a lucky London 2012 badge every day, and she wants to pass on her enthusiasm to as many people as possible through her role as a McCain Track & Field ambassador.
Training Tip
We often think of athletics, and running especially, as being all about the lower body, but you shouldn’t forget the rest! Strong arms help prevent lower body fatigue and toned abs and a strong trunk are the best base to help your limbs work efficiently. Click here for the full athlete's workout.
